About Little Harbour Church & Restoration
A little church has stood at Little Harbour since 1883. We are its current caretakers, and this is who we are and where the work stands today.
Steven & Lindsay
The church was officially purchased on August 18, 2025. Though we "come from away," our intention — shared deeply with our local friend and project manager — is to respectfully restore the building with the utmost care so it can continue to shine within the cove.
Lindsay's family roots trace back to the historic fabric of this part of the world: from the Norse who settled the Isle of Man, to Clan Lindsay of Scotland, and on to North America. With the Vikings having made landfall right here in Newfoundland, it feels like a full circle — and we hope there are heritage connections still to discover in the area.
Once the restoration is complete, the intention is to open the doors to the community. To honour the building's legacy, a dedicated historical display wall will be curated inside the church so its story can be shared with everyone whenever the doors are open.

Honouring the Heritage
This was, and remains, a sacred place to many people. Weddings, funerals, christenings, ordinary Sundays. Our intention is to hold that with care: to preserve the building, to gather the stories while the people who hold them are still with us, and to bring the community back through the doors.
Because the families of this area are the true heartbeat of its history, we would love your old photos — from a wedding, from when it first opened, when it was an active church, or when it was later used as a boatbuilding workshop. If you have physical photos but aren't sure how to share them digitally, tell us and we can swing by and take a quick digital scan, so they never have to leave your hands.
Where we're at, plainly: we bought it, we're renovating, and we hope you'll come up for a visit once the renovation is complete. Beyond that in the future, we can open the doors to the community in a meaningful way — nothing settled, nothing announced. The Little Harbour Church Community Member will hear it first.
